Hi all,

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I thought I'd let you know about a pretty cool website at www.freerice.com.
Basically by playing some simple games such as grammar, maths, vocabulary etc, you will donate ten granes of rice to third world countries; It's said that it works by the sponcers that appear on each correct answer. Go to the website for more details.
If this is sinceer (which I believe it is as I wrote to them and had someone write back to me with a pretty technical response), I've donated over 6000 granes since April last year when I joined.
Don't flame me if you believe it to be a scam; I'm not making anything out of this site except for hopefully knowing that I am donating at least a bit of food to these countries. :)

I've done the vocabulary and geography quizzes; it's entertaining. If I'm donating a little rice, that's a bonus.

I'm assuming yall haven't had any problems with malware, etc? I'm all for this but just want to make sure before I go bebopping my nontechnical virus magnet self over there. lol

It looks about as safe as anywhere else, DG. No popups, scarily excessive clicking, download dialogues or anything else. Nothing overtly dodgy, anyway. I'd guess you're as safe there as anywhere.

I've played with this site from time to time and never had a problem with it. Six thousand grains of rice may sound like a lot, but it isn't. Still, I guess every bit counts. That's how I look at it. It's a time-passer with a tiny incentive in it, and that's cool.

yes I have played this game and I quite enjoyed it and nothing bad happened to my computer because of it and I agree every little bit that can help others will make you feel good, smiles.
